Clinical Psychologist

Miss Megha Sharma is an RCI licensed clinical psychologist. Previously she has worked in AIIMS, Delhi hospital as a clinical psychologist in different departments such as Psychiatry and medicine. There, she was actively involved in various international and national research projects on mental health from 2015-2016 and then from 2019-2021. She has also served as a faculty in the department of clinical psychology as Assistant Professor at Amity University, Haryana from 2016-2019. During this period, she was actively engaged in clinical teaching and training of M.phil clinical psychology students.

 

Education

She has completed her graduation B.A.(Hons) Psychology and MA in psychology from Delhi University, North campus. She has also done a B.E.D (special education) in learning disability from Jamia Millia Islamia University. Then she did M.Phil in clinical psychology from IHBAS hospital, Delhi from 2012-2014. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. (in psychology) from IGNOU, Delhi.

Work Experience
  • She has more than 12 years of experience in teaching, supervision, research, and clinical work in the field of disability and mental health in different Delhi-based government hospitals, research institutions, universities, and NGOs.
  • Currently, she is associated with SGT Hospital and medical college in Gurugram and Neuroflux Neurology and Neurodiagnostic center in Gurugram.
Research Papers
  • She has presented numerous research papers in national seminars, and national and international conferences and conducted workshops related to different themes of mental health for school children, teachers, IT professionals, and university students.
  • She has also got many different papers published in reputed international and national peer review journals and has also written articles in Hindi for a mental health e-magazine.
  • Attended and presented numerous research papers in National seminars, National and International conferences related to different themes in the area of mental health such as Reconsidering relationships and their evolving nature during a pandemic- an overview, socio-ecological perspectives in psychological well-being, the role of cognitive biases and expressed emotions in paranoid schizophrenia, an understanding of substance use disorder from a family perspective, emotional intelligence in a military context, socialization of emotions – a comparison of mothers belonging to low and middle SES groups in the Indian context, the role of mindfulness in substance abuse management, Internet addiction, and CBT, Learning disabilities, experiences of traumatic events among college students, positive psychology and psychotherapy, Beyond happiness- a Task focused orientation and finding meaning in it, on a regular basis.

Workshops/Webinars Conducted
  • Conducted a series of workshops on the theme of “Moral values and Cyber-Bullying” for secondary and senior secondary students in different government and private schools in the Delhi-NCR region, in January and February 2022.
  • A Webinar conducted on the event of World Mental Health Day, entitled ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World- Promoting Youth Mental Health, dated 10 October. The event was organized by KHOJ, Students’ Research Unit of the Janki Devi Memorial College (Delhi University)-IQAC Research Centre.
  • Delivered a series of lectures for orientation of regular classroom teachers in government schools related to i) Early identification, accommodation, and intervention strategies of CWSN- Children with Special needs ii) Policies, Exemptions, relaxations, and modification guidelines given by CBSE for CWSN- Children with Special needs. Organized by the directorate of education, DOE, Samagra Shiksha Delhi, on 30-3-2021& 31-3-2021.
  • Conducted a live webinar on ‘How to maintain one’s wellbeing while working from home, during Covid-19’, on 28 October 2020, organized by Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD), Government of India, Chandigarh college of engineering and technology, sector-26, Chandigarh. A four days webinar program from 26-29 October 2020 entitled ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat ke liye Matri Bhasha Mein Prodyogik Shikshan ka Yogdaan’.

  • Workshop conducted at Salwaan Public School, Ghaziabad on “Behavioral Issues among Children and their Management” for parents of grade IX & Xth students, on 25th August 2018.
  • Career Counseling and learning workshop for children aged 3 to 19 years on 4th, 5th, and 6th October 2011 with Centre for Transforming India, NGO. Guide them through various options in professional courses depending upon their career goals/preferences.
  • Worked in the project of SOS children India, as one of the team coordinators for providing training program on mother’s emotional well-being and disciplining children in the program entitled Alternative Disciplinary Techniques for regulating children’s behavior and quantitative analysis of the data
